How to Use an LMR 400 Crimping Tool

1. Prepare the Cable:
   • Strip the Cable: Use a coaxial cable stripper to carefully remove the outer insulation and expose the inner conductor. Make sure to leave the correct amount of exposed conductor according to the connector’s specifications.
   • Trim the Braiding: Ensure the cable’s shielding (braiding) is properly folded back over the outer insulation.
2. Assemble the Connector:
   • Slide the Connector: Slide the connector body onto the prepared cable. Ensure it’s positioned correctly and the inner conductor is properly aligned with the connector’s center pin.
3. Crimp the Connector:
   • Position the Connector: Place the connector into the crimping tool’s die.
   • Crimp: Squeeze the handles of the crimping tool firmly to crimp the connector onto the cable. The tool will apply the necessary pressure to secure the connector.
4. Inspect the Connection:
   • Check for Secure Fit: Ensure the connector is firmly attached to the cable and that there are no loose or damaged parts.
   • Test: If possible, test the connection to ensure it meets performance requirements.
